The Best Breakfast Spots On Hong Kong Island

AMO.AGO
Sample the tastes of Italia at AMO.AGO with tartines inspired by different destinations from Amalfi Coast to Cinque Terra and Capri. The pastries are simply divine but before you dive in, fill in with some protein like the Eggcocotte (which is also a veggie-friendly option!) or a hearty granola bowl with Greek yoghurt. AMO.AGO also serves excellent cocktails for after-work tipples (unless you want it for breakfast — no judgement here!).
Sassy recommends: Croque monsieur croissant, pistachio latte, ice mocha & chocolate chip cookies (our Editorial team can’t get enough of these)
Open from: 8am to 11pm, daily
AMO.AGO, G/F, 11 Shelley Street, Central, Hong Kong, www.amoago.com.hk

Jimmy’s Kitchen
Jimmy’s was already a perfect little oasis in the heart of bustling Central if you were in need of a great value lunch or dinner, but now with its revamped weekday breakfast menu expanded to include French toast and more savoury sandwiches and egg dishes, it’s even better! The new chocolate French toast with nutella cream is sinfully delicious, and you can expect the eggs in your benedict to always be cooked to perfection.
Sassy recommends: Pancakes (banana is a classic!) & cornbread (worth the add-on according to our Managing Editor)
Open from: 8am, weekdays (breakfast served until 10am)
Jimmy’s Kitchen, M/F, Pedder Building, 12 Pedder Street, Central, Hong Kong, Instagram: @jimmyskitchenhk

Pane e Latte
Pastries, gelato and a trip to the beach? What a way to start your day! Pane e Latte, imbues the quaint seaside town of Stanley with a touch of “la dolce vita” in the form of a traditional Italian panificio. The all-day cafe stocks freshly baked goodies to take away, and also operates a dine-in experience where guests can indulge in a range of sweet and savoury plates from breakfast to aperitivo and dinner.
Sassy Tip: Its giant pastries (that are the size of two human heads!) are more worth the order for the comical snaps you’ll get out of it than the actual taste.
Open from: 8am to 10pm, daily
Pane e Latte, 25 Stanley Market Road, Stanley, Hong Kong, 2337 7221, www.paneelatte.hk

Fineprint
For the self-professed avocado toast and coffee enthusiast, Fineprint is an absolute dream come true with not one, not two, but three kinds of avo toast (the half and half avo/tomato ricotta might be the best) loved by our Managing Director and Managing Editor! This chic little breakfast nook is reminiscent of Sydney coffee shops, but seamlessly fits into Hong Kong’s breakfast scene as well. The dimly lit interiors are fairly cosy, but we love sitting outside and people-watching with a delicious (and super well priced) iced coffee and cookie.
Sassy recommends: Ricotta toast, lovebird coffee & coconut cold brew

Bakehouse
Helmed by Chef Grégoire Michaud, this bakery is far from run-of-the-mill, with all of its baked goods made fresh onsite every day. NOC Coffee Co.
Be it the almond croissant or all day breakfast with all the classics, NOC Coffee Co. is a firm favourite. While we do find paying $138 for a smoked salmon toast on the pricier side, this once-in-a-while breakfast treat never skimps on quality. The minimalist ambiance, pet-friendly outdoor seating and quality coffee all adds to the experience.
