Another feather in Aqua Restaurant Group’s cap, this dining destination is set to open in January 2026 and we’re sure it won’t disappoint. Offering an all-day Japanese dining experience – whether you want a power lunch, terrace drinks or casual dinner – you can expect this new restaurant to be the perfect blend of Tai Kwun’s history and modern Japanese aesthetics. Its extensive menu will include robata grill, yakotori, sushi and sashimi, created by Executive Chef Tatsuya Iwahashi and Executive Sushi Chef Jeff Ko. Shiro Central will have special dishes exclusive to Tai Kwun, and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks too.

Given its proximity to our office, you better believe we made a beeline for this cute coffee shop as soon as it opened. While this Korean spot (which appears Greek-inspired given its exterior) has a plethora of pastries and coffees, it also serves hearty lunch, brunch and dinner options, so you’re sorted for the whole day. Its corner location affords it a spacious interior where you can plop down with a drink or catch up with friends over an Instagrammable meal. Oh, and it’s pet-friendly too!

Fudo Town & Izakaya – Genso Opens At HKJC With Two New Dining Options

Next time you’re near the Sha Tin Racecourse, make sure you pop in to see Genso, the new four-storey digital horseracing hub that, in addition to sports and entertainment, has integrated new dining selections to its repertoire. Its two distinct venues – Fudo Town food hall and Izakaya restaurant – are both open to the public, including non-HKJC members. At Fudo Town, expect a variety of cuisines from establishments like Ramen Bar, Don Express and Sui-tsu Corner. Meanwhile at fourth-floor Izakaya, you’ll have a la carte and set menu options ranging pizza, gyoza, sushi, skewers and parfait.

With an extensive menu covering everything from nigiri, sashimi and uramaki to tacos, sake and gunkan, Sushi Raku has brought all of its signature charm to the bustling underground food court, and we couldn’t be more excited. It also has three different lunch options in its menu so you’re sorted whether you want donburi, assorted nigiri or a classic Japanese rice bowl with miso soup!

Sassy Tip: For those with a sweet tooth who lamented the store closure of Hole Foods (we know we did), remember that it is currently running a three-month pop-up residency at BaseHall 01!
