There might not be a better deal in Wan Chai than The Optimist’s returning lunch buffet – especially if you love delicious Spanish bites! This Asador-inspired restaurant boasts towers of fresh seafood and masterfully grilled prime cuts, all retaining the authentic essence of a Northern Spanish culinary experience. Now, you can once again enjoy an all-you-can-eat appetisers buffet that includes truffle & ham croquetas, tuna tartare, patatas bravas and more. Starting from $40 you can also add on a soup and main course, or dip into a dessert like burnt crema Catalana or churros for only $18!

Ruam – Buy-One-Get-One-Free Curry Mondays at Wan Chai Thai restaurant
What a way to beat those Monday blues! Neighbourhood favourite Ruam is celebrating its sixth anniversary by introducing a brand-new Curry Mondays deal on all its delicious Thai offerings. Available for both lunch and dinner (for dine-in and takeaway), the curries come with a rice and roti and you can opt to add on side dishes from its a la carte menu. It serves fan favourites like Chicken green curry (Gaeng Kiew Wan Gai) and a creamy Massaman made with slow-cooked lamb shank. For those who love a bit of spice in their lunch, try the Kung Phat Prik Keng (red curry with tiger prawns) and wash it down with cool drink before heading back to the office.

BÀRBAR – Spanish wine bar with a Tapas Business Lunch Set
If you’ve been to BÀRBAR, it was probably in the evening to soak in its immaculate vibes as a wine bar with delicious bites. But did you know it also offers a Business Lunch menu with different options based on your dining party? Everyone starts with Tomato bread and two Tapas per person (you can’t go wrong with the Ham croquettes or Spanish potato tortillas), then you can opt for an ‘individual’ size for the mains, or a ‘sharing’ size if you can decide on which delicious (large) dish to go for! Round it all off with a dessert course where you can choose between Churros, BÀRBAR Cappuccino or Pear braised in Sangria.

Cheung Hing Kee Shanghai Pan-Fried Buns – Cheap (and filling) bun set menus in Wan Chai
This little restaurant cooks up unbelievably delicious Shanghai Pan Fried Buns (loved by Sassy’s editorial team) and is a must-try if you’re looking for a cheap and delicious lunch set. The little pockets of goodness are filled with piping hot soup and stuffed with mouth-watering pork, before being pan-fried — causing the bottoms to become crispy and the tops to steam. There are four sets to choose from, all come with two Signature Buns and a drink. Beyond that, you can opt for pork wontons with chicken soup, noodles with scallion oil, Sichuan spicy noodles or Curry sliced beef with glass noodles.

Fini’s – Italian restaurant with three daily lunch sets to choose from
In the mood for a carb-y lunch that might just leave you in a food coma? Fini’s is the answer! This neighbourhood trattoria and pizzeria has been building its loyal following in Hong Kong for almost 15 years, filling up diners with fresh pasta, open-flame-fired pizza and delectable drinks. During lunchtime, you have the option of three sets. The Pizza Set gives you two slices of NY Style Pizza, the Pasta Set comes with a portion of pasta and the Secondi Set gives you the choice of Chicken parm or Flat Iron steak. Kin Kao – Wan Chai Thai hotspot with affordable set lunch
A favourite of our Partnerships Manager, Kin Kao is a great option if you want a quick but filling meal at an unbelievably reasonable price. For just $80, you can choose from one of six mains and get it with a Longan juice, Ice Lemon Tea or Ice Milk Tea. The only downside is this really only caters to meat-eaters, with options such as Slow cooked pork knuckle, Spicy & Sour Noodle with pork, Hainan chicken with rice and Chiang Mai curry soup with egg noodles and chicken.

Le Petite Saigon – Banh Mi for $88 in Wan Chai!
While not a lunch set, we had to include this in our list because a) Team Sassy loves Vietnamese cuisine, and b) five different kinds of Banh Mi, each for only $88? Yes, please! Le Petit Saigon ticks all the boxes and sees off any cravings at all times of the day, especially if you need a grab-and-go lunch. You can’t go wrong with the classic Bánh Mì Thit (complete with rolled pork belly, vietnamese cold cuts, pork floss, chicken liver pâté, pickles, cucumber, coriander, chilli and soya sauce), but vegetarians should try out the equally satisfying Bánh Mì Dau Hu Va Nam, with mushroom, tofu, mayo, pickles, cucumber, lettuce and chilli soy vinaigrette.
