LONDON: Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents, along with 15 other prominent Nepali travel trade companies, participated at one of the largest International Tourism Trade Fairs in Europe, known as the FITUR, at Feria de Madrid in Spain held on 18-22 January.
As many as 9,500 companies from 167 countries across the globe have taken part in the event.
The participants from Nepal showcased the tourism products and services at the fair. Nepal has been participating in various international platforms to promote its unique cultures, tradition and natural beauties that attract thousands of tourists every year.
Apart from the regular adventures products, The Great Himalayan Trail, and a new array of customised packages of meditation, yoga, home-stays and Buddhist pilgrimage tours were also promoted on the occasion.
“The 32nd edition of FITUR, which brought together more than 9,500 companies from 167 countries and regions, provided an effective setting for generating a sense of synergy and opening up new business opportunities for the exhibitors and buyers,” said a press statement issued by the board.
Throughout its five-day duration, FITUR brought together in Madrid all of the different stakeholders that make up the tourist industry, ranging from representatives with a high decision-making level from Spanish and foreign administrative bodies and companies.
