6 Hong Kong Bars Make It On Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 List

Hong Kong’s Bar Leone retains the top spot as The Best Bar in Asia, while GOKAN enters the list of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 list.

The prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Bars list for 2025 was revealed at the 10th annual awards ceremony, held in Macau on Tuesday, 15 July. Six Hong Kong bars secured a spot on the top 50 list, with Bar Leone retaining its title as The Best Bar in Hong Kong — an accomplishment also secured by The Chairman, which was Hong Kong’s Best Restaurant two years in a row.

Argo and Coa, formerly in the top 10 spots of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024, have dropped to #11 and #17, respectively. An additional three Hong Kong bars made it to the extended list, scroll for more details!

#1 Bar Leone

Italian-style neighbourhood cocktail bar, Bar Leone, can be found halfway up The Peak in Hong Kong, and also at the top spot for Hong Kong’s Best Bar for the second year in a row, and also Asia’s Best Bar 2025. #33 GOKAN

Internationally renowned Japanese mixologist, Shingo Gokan, opened his eponymously named bar in July 2024, entering Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2025, a short one year later. In Japanese, “Gokan” means “five senses“, with a goal to engage all the senses with its delicious food and drinks, whilst being deeply rooted in traditional Japanese concepts. GOKAN is inspired by the nuanced and holistic approach of Japanese culinary traditions.

3 Hong Kong Bars That Made It On Asia’s 51-100 Best Bars 2025 List

This year, The Opposites made its debut on the extended list at number 80. Currently operating as an alcohol-free establishment, Mostly Harmless comes in at number 86, dropping 41 places this year from its 2024 award. This is followed by the beloved Quinary, Hong Kong’s multisensory cocktail bar, which ranked at number 91.
