Where To Watch The 2026 New Year’s Eve Fireworks In Hong Kong

Where to watch the 2026 new year's eve fireworks in Hong Kong? Where To Watch The Fireworks From Kowloon

Where To Watch The 2026 New Year’s Eve Fireworks From Kowloon:

  • Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade — The perfect spot to nab a great photo, this will be one of the busiest areas as the (arguably) best views of the National Day fireworks can be seen here!
  • Avenue Of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui — Watch the National Day fireworks amongst “stars” from this quintessential Hong Kong landmark. Expect crowds.
  • West Kowloon Art Park and Waterfront Promenade — With its easy access from Kowloon MTR Station/Elements Mall, this makes the excursion simpler. Make sure to read our ultimate guide here.
  • Harbour City Rooftop Car Park and Ocean Terminal Deck — A great option is to head over early, squeeze in a spot of shopping, nab an early dinner then head up to catch the view!
  • Kowloon Peak – Fei Ngo Shan — For the more adventurous, this is a great vantage point that also adds a rewarding trek with exercise! Night hike, anyone?
  • Sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck, ICC — Watch the fireworks from the 100th floor of the tallest building in Hong Kong.

Where To Watch The 2026 New Year’s Eve Fireworks From Hong Kong Island:

  • ifc Mall —ifc’s rooftop is a super popular place to watch the fireworks; there is a public free-seating area and you can head over early to grab a burger and cheesy chips from Shake Shack.
  • Tamar Park — Pack a picnic, set up a tent, and watch the sky light up!
  • Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai — With the Convention Centre in the background and the fireworks in the foreground (sky!) this is a great spot on the island to watch!
  • Wan Chai Temporary Promenade — A five minute walk from the MTR Exhibition Centre Station and one of the most popular destinations!
  • The Peak — No doubt the Peak will have one of the best views on the island, it will also be quite packed. Make sure to go early to grab a spot in one of the many viewing areas including the Observation Deck at The Peak Galleria, the Lions Pavilion and Sky Terrace 428.
  • Certain parts of Bowen Drive (just past the intersection of Bowen Road and Bowen Drive) and Braemar Hill also serve as lesser-known vantage points.
  • Central Ferry Pier — A great place to view the fireworks, which is why it will also be very popular. Go early and secure your spot!

Tips For Watching The 2026 new year's eve Fireworks In Hong Kong

Tips For Watching The 2026 New Year’s Eve Fireworks In Hong Kong

  • Get there early. We know you know this, but note that once spots reach a maximum capacity, the police will close them off. So leave earlier than you think you need to. The early bird gets the worm!
  • Expect mega crowds. Literally, thousands upon thousands of people will be jostling for a spot.
  • Plan your route. There will be road closures and other traffic arrangements from 6pm onwards— plus some MTR exits are often closed. So be prepared to take a detour to your destination… think of it as the scenic route!
  • Keep an eye on your stuff! With such crowds, remember to keep a tight grip on your valuables.

If you’re not up for the crowds (we hear ya!), the best viewing spot may just be the most convenient: your living room. The fireworks should be broadcast live on free local TV channels so you can enjoy the spectacle from the comfort of your sofa.

Alternatively, book a table at a Harbour-view restaurant or a private party room! There’s no better time to pay a little more to get a less hectic, unobstructed view. Just a few of the restaurants that offer a view of Victoria Harbour include Cruise Restaurant & Bar, ALTO Bar & Grill and The Regent Hong Kong.

Ping Yeung White Fields In Tai Po

If you’re very serious on venturing far and beyond to a little-known Insta-spot in Hong Kong, the trip to Ta Kwu Ling will be worth your time. While the vicinity itself is Insta-worthy everywhere you turn (low-rise houses at villages always get us!), the white fields at Ping Yeung are especially popular for wedding photoshoots! It goes without saying that the best shots are taken during golden hour when the white field gives off a warm hue.

How to get there: From Sheung Shui Station, take Exit A3 and head to towards the post office. Then take bus route 79K towards Ta Kwu Ling Police Station and get off at Ping Yuen Road. Walk past Ping Yeung village and continue along Ping Yeung Road to reach the pavilion with the white field.

Sassy Tip: Wear trousers or bring insect repellent if you’re prone to bites.

Rooster Ridge In Yuen Long

We’re wiling to break a sweat to be greeted by sweeping views (unless it’s boiling hot and humid out!), not only does it look lush on our feed, there’s a greater sense of accomplishment knowing you’ve conquered a summit. If you’d like to skip mainstream hikes that get crowded easily, we suggest tackling Rooster Ridge in the New Territories. On a clear day, you can see the skyline of Shenzhen, with Tai Mo Shan, Pat Sing Leng and even Castle Peak towering in the background. It’s quite a strenous trail with no shade and endless steps but the velvety texture of the ridge makes this one a unique spot.

How to get there: From Yuen Long Station Exit G1, walk to Long Yat Road for the Yuen Long Station (North) Public Transport Interchange. From here, take minibus 603 and alight at the basketball court at Fung Kat Heung Road, the starting point is a couple minutes away.
