FoN-Joy Library is blooming with its Children's Library Program as well as some awareness programs for the community.

Located in the Kathmandu Valley (Lalitpur District), informally started on April 2016, FoN-Joy Library, (children's library) will very soon be registered (as a Private-Non Profit organization). The purpose of the library is "providing better informed life to the people and their community, which helps in making them aware and good citizens of the country".

FoN-Joy Library is blooming with its Children's Library Program as well as some awareness programs for the community.

"One thing that encouraged me to propose this library is when our daughters were small, they were always fond of books but finding a good children's library in the town was a very difficult thing". My dream is to establish this library as a "tool of education" through which the process of learning can take place. But for this, the first and foremost thing to do is identifying the people's need along with gathering necessary information.

Having this dream on my mind, many years' passed. One day (recently) an incident occurred in my life. I lost hearing on one of my ear which made me very frustrated for few days. But this incident became a turning point of my life as it pushed me to work on hearing awareness. I therefore had the desire to work on reducing noise pollution immediately. But later I thought that it would be better if I could work on different issues either environmental such as noise pollution, air/water pollution etc. So, Library can be a platform where I can work on these different issues.

FoN-Joy Library is blooming with its Children's Library Program as well as some awareness programs for the community.

Therefore, in these days I am moving ahead with this small children's library. To make it more effective, strong relationship between the library, the local community and the educational institutions should be built. After doing so, then I can work on the different environmental issues by developing leaflets, brochures and so on.

We are certain that this children's library will play an effective role in the community and our team here (Mr. Chaman Moktan and my daughter Miss Rebecca Moktan) is committed to take more steps ahead.

Thank you very much.
